GREAT Entrepreneur Games, which first started at the 2012 London Olympics, then spread to the world with different versions over Singapore, Australia, Chile, Argentina, Mexico and Poland and finally took place in Turkey.
They competed to attract investment
In the event designed by the Global Entrepreneur Program of the UK Department of International Trade (Global Entrepreneur Program), 50 startups selected by the jury among nearly 200 initiatives that applied for participation competed.
Leading business people of their fields and business developers participating in the Department's Global Entrepreneur Program, who participated in the panels held within the event, in which many names from local and global entrepreneurship circles participated as spectators upon a special invitation, gave advice to the entrepreneurs participating in the competition on how to attract investments for their projects.
In the full-day event, entrepreneurs and investors came together at the British Consulate General in Istanbul and competed to attract investors' attention in a virtual environment via a mobile application specially designed for the event.
Opportunity to have an international network
Both entrepreneurs and investors had been allocated a virtual balance of 1 million pounds on the application. On the day of the game, he tried to raise investments by making short and effective presentations to startups, investors and other initiatives in free format.
At the end of the day, the owners of the top 3 startups with the highest virtual investment won the right to make a 3-day study trip to London. These initiatives from Turkey will have the opportunity to grow their business in the UK and join an international network, as well as connect with an entrepreneurial ecosystem.
